Commissioners gear up to discuss all Splost 6 projects

ALBANY, GA. -- County and city commissioners will meet this Wednesday to review their potential Splost 6 projects.

The group will meet at 2 p.m. at the Albany Civic Center and agree on how to spend the city’s 64% and the county’s 36% of Splost 6 money.

County Commission Chairman Jeff Sinyard says county commissioners have one united goal in mind for the meeting.  “My take on the splost is that almost every dollar needs to be going toward infrastructure.  It does not need to go towards any kind of entity that will create maintenance cost in the future” Says Sinyard.

The meeting is required by state law to make sure that any program that includes both jurisdictions is approved by both commissions.
