(AP) -- ATLANTA (AP) - Atlanta police say one man is dead as a result of a shootout during an attempted robbery at a tattoo parlor.

Police say three men entered the West End Tattoo parlor Tuesday evening and attempted to rob the owner.

Atlanta Police Maj. Keith Meadows says the owner grabbed his own gun, and that at least 15 shot were fired during the exchange of gunfire.

Meadows says one of the robbers was killed and the others fled.

The name of the person shot has not been released.
