ALBANY, GA. -- Physical therapists at Phoebe Northwest are using a new technology to better treat foot pain.
The “Xtremity One” foot scanning machine lets physical therapists get more accurate scans for more accurate treatment. Physical Therapist Sue Freeman says they used to wait three weeks for plaster casts of a person’s foot. Now, it takes about a week to get the scan and start treating all sorts of pain.
“Feet, ankle, knee, even hip, back problems, getting the alignment right, it starts from the foot, from the ground up,” said Freeman.
It’s one of two machines of its kind in Georgia.
