(AP) -- SUWANEE, Ga. (AP) - The Gwinnett County Fire Department says a 7-year-old boy drowned in an apartment complex swimming pool in Suwanee.

Fire department officials say a crew responded to a call on Monday and found the 7-year-old ying on the pool deck unconscious.

Officials say an adult bystander had pulled the child out of the water and tried to resuscitate him, and police continued CPR until the fire department arrived.

Firefighters administered life support procedures and took the child to the Emory Johns Creek Hospital Emergency Room, where he was pronounced dead. His name has not yet been released.
