Police blocked off part of Hoover Street at West 3rd Avenue for about an hour Tuesday morning as crime scene investigators collected evidence in the street
Albany police have one man in custody for allegedly firing shots at someone living on West 3rd Avenue. Police say it is a domestic dispute.
65-year-old Wayne Goode’s home at 1215 West 3rd Avenue turned into a crime scene Tuesday morning. Police say 41-year-old Nathaniel Collins went to Goode’s house upset over a family matter involving Collins’ wife and child. He pointed a gun at Goode and fired. No one was hurt. Police say there’s no relation between the two men.
This is the second time in less than a week that neighbors have seen police in the area. Friday, just a block away on Eager Drive, a man stabbed a woman in a domestic dispute. The recent crime has got some neighbors worried.
“It’s not a comfortable feeling when you’re sitting at home and you hear gunshots or you’re sitting at home and see all these ambulances behind you because someone’s been stabbed,” said an Albany woman who asked to remain anonymous.
Police blocked off part of Hoover Street at West 3rd Avenue for about an hour Tuesday morning as crime scene investigators collected evidence in the street. Police recovered weapons and ammunition in Collins’ truck. They towed it from the scene around 9 a.m. The shots were fired around 7:30.
