MCLB Commander Col. Terry Reid gave the group a special farewell

Four civilian Marines attached to the Marine Corps Logistics Base in Albany deployed for service in the Middle East today.

Bobby Sherman, Lavantes Lewis, Charles Tinson, and Eric Clemens all boarded their plane departing from the Southwest Georgia Regional Airport around 11 a.m., amid tears and goodbye hugs from family and friends.

MCLB Commander Col. Terry Reid gave the group a special farewell.  "I'm going to be here when they leave, and I'll be here when they get back," Col. Reid said.

The four are scheduled to return one year from their deployment date, and with the addition of these four, the number of Marines serving overseas from the MCLB is now at 22.
