Candidate for the open seat on the Public Service Commission Tim Echols hosted a town hall meeting this afternoon.

Echols spoke about alternative energy sources, the United States dependency on foreign oil, and possible increases of utility rates.

Echols says he hears Georgia Power’s rates will increase by $9.

“It’s unfortunate because people are having a difficult time; families are having a hard time being able to make ends meet.  It’s not the time where we want any budget item in our family budget item going up,” said Echols.
