Folks got to read their own poetry, or someone else's, at the Westtown Public Library Saturday
In honor of National Poetry Month, one library assistant decided to celebrate.
An open mic was held at the Westtown Public Library. There was a good turnout; several professors from Darton College read their own poetry or a poem by a well known author. Assistant Krysta Price says exposure to poetry is vital.
“Poetry is an amazing expression of yourself, your voice, becoming confidant in yourself, learning confidence. I just feel it's a good way to bring people together, diverse people. Poetry is universal,” Said Price.
She hopes to make it an annual event.
