The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports that Colleen Higgins seemed to have disappeared last spring

(AP) -- Atlanta police have issued arrest warrants for a Buckhead therapist who allegedly stole thousands of dollars from friends and police.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports that Colleen Higgins seemed to have disappeared last spring after she allegedly talked people who trusted her into loaning her money.

When she didn't repay the money, some sued and went to the police.

Police said in June that it was not illegal to default on a loan.  But on Tuesday an Atlanta detective filed eight arrest warrants with the Fulton County Superior Court citing theft by deception.
