Huckabee talks about health care reform
(AP) -- Mike Huckabee - a favorite of Georgia conservatives - said health care reform in Washington misses the mark because it's focused on getting more Americans covered by insurance, rather than incentives to make them healthier.
Huckabee said the mandate-based approach moving in Congress "is like providing an all you can eat buffet for someone who is already obese." The former Arkansas governor, who dropped more than 100 pounds and now runs marathons, said America has a "health crisis" not a health care crisis. Huckabee on Monday night addressed the Chamber of Commerce's
annual legislative dinner in Atlanta. In 2008, Huckabee won Georgia's Republican presidential primary with 34 percent of the vote.
Huckabee now hosts a talk show on Fox News Channel and hasn't ruled out another run for president.
