Rescue teams have been searching Lake Chehaw for Fannie Corley since her abandoned car was found on the Jefferson St. bridge on Christmas Eve

A multi-agency search continues for a missing 77-year-old Lee County woman.

Rescue teams have been searching Lake Chehaw for Fannie Corley since her abandoned car was found on the Jefferson Street bridge on Christmas Eve. Lee County Sheriff's Captain Keith Houston says they have not labeled Corley's disappearance as a suicide or homicide. However, Houston says they're labeling the search as a recovery.

K-9 dogs tracked Corley's last scent to the bridge and Houston says that's why they're searching the water. The sheriff's office along with the Albany and Lee County Fire Departments, Albany-Dougherty Search and Rescue, the Department of Natural Resources, and volunteers from the community are searching a 2 mile span of water.

The search will continue Sunday at 10 in the morning.
