District Attorney says she has the right as a public official

The Dougherty County District Attorney's office says ADICA board member LaJuana Woods will be given the chance to speak on her behalf in front of a grand jury.

District Attorney Greg Edwards says that his office could present a grand jury with a possible indictment for Woods on December 16. Woods accepted a $50,000 facade grant for her East Albany restaurant. Edwards says that Woods is allowed the right to speak directly to grand jurors due to her public office on the ADICA board. Woods has agreed to pay back the grant that was given to her by fired Downtown Manager Don Buie. Buie's trial begins December 14.
