Victim and witnesses flee inside the store

Police say 20-year-old Reginald Hines was assaulted Tuesday night by three black men outside June Bug’s Groceries on South Madison Street.

Reports say Hines got out of his vehicle when one man exited a new model Toyota Avalon and approached him. The man reportedly struck Hines in the face with the gun and a struggle between the two continued.  Police say another man then exited the Avalon, picked up the gun and shot once.  Hines and several witnesses then ran into the store.
