You can now call a toll free 24/7 hotline to get the latest on the swine flu virus and vaccine

The Southwest Georgia Health District has an H1N1 information hotline up and running.

You can now call a toll free 24/7 hotline to get the latest on the swine flu virus and vaccine. The hotline number is 1-800-829-2255 and public health will update the recorded message as new information becomes available.

“Signs and symptoms of the flu. If you have that signs and symptoms, how you might be able to take care of yourself at home. What signs and symptoms would prompt you to seek medical attention,” Brenda Greene with District Public Health said.

You can also reach the hotline through Dougherty County’s new 311 information line.
