Darton College shows off its brand new residence hall to the southwest Georgia community.
The College held an open house for the community Sunday afternoon so they could get the first look at Darton Commons. The residence hall has 210 beds, and each room comes with a kitchen or kitchenette, and most of the students have their own bathroom. Students who spoke with FOX 31 News say living in the dorm will enhance their college experience.
“Running back and forth from home doesn’t give me much time to study. I have a job here. It’s right beside Darton so when I have my schooling and I have my work and anything else I need its right here,” said Darton student Geordan Newsome.
The college has at least 30 students on a waiting list to live in Darton Commons.
