Dougherty County School Board elects a new Chairman
The Dougherty County School Board officially welcomed two new members and elected a new Chair and Vice Chair at Monday night's meeting.
Dr. Anita Williams and Velvet Riggins are the newest members of the board. Board members voted four to three to elect David Maschke as the new Chairman, and Reverend James Bush won unopposed for Vice Chair. During his run for the district one seat, Maschke told Fox 31 News he would support Michael Windom for the post Maschke now holds. But, Maschke says he wants to take the board in a new direction. The board also accepted an audit report for the district's use of Splost funds.
The independent audit states the district spent all its Splost funds responsibly.
