Buie says Albanians can expect more activity going on downtown in 2009
Folks will be seeing changes coming soon to the downtown area, says Downtown Manager Don Buie.
Buie says next year will see the expansion of the Subway on Jackson, a new Dollar Square store, two new night clubs and more. When Buie first arrived a little under a year ago, downtown had a vacancy rate of 70%. Now, certain places are seeing 100% occupancy rate like the 300 block of Broad Avenue.
Developers are calling Buie every day inquiring about opportunities in Albany. Buie says residential living is key to making downtown successful and will be a goal in 2009.
