ALBANY, GA. --

After a strong start to the Christmas holiday season, Christmas tree salespeople say sales are starting to slow down but it has nothing to do with the economy.

Now that it’s getting closer to Christmas many people have already purchased their trees.

The owner of a Christmas tree lot on Dawson Road says this year's sales have been about the same as last year.

He says fortunately he hasn't been hit hard by the economy.

“Actually during the years when the economy was really struggling we tended to do better. I guess it gave people something to look forward to,” said Glenn Eames.

Eames says he'll continue to sell trees until Christmas day.
