ALBANY, GA -- After months of legal issues, dating back to 2011, Roderick Jolivette officially retired Monday.

The Albany Fire Lieutenant spent the last 30-years with the department, and hosted friends and family to commemorate that career.

When asked about his impact upon the community was, Jolivette simply says, service.

"It's all about service, anytime you go out and do service there's reward at the end. But the end is not really near because I'm going to continue doing service, and helping mankind," said Jolivette.

Jolivette plans to open a law office after graduating from ASU later this year.
