Georgia's top cancer programs to meet in Atlanta

Phoebe Putney Memorial's Director of Surgical Oncology, Dr. Troy Kimsey will be heading to Atlanta Tuesday to meet with Cancer Care leaders from across the state.

ALBANY, GA --

Phoebe Putney Memorial's Director of Surgical Oncology, Dr. Troy Kimsey will be heading to Atlanta Tuesday to meet with Cancer Care leaders from across the state.

Georgia's best and most promising cancer centers will be meeting to discuss new industry standards and share their own, patient care practices.

This is meeting is designed to help improve care across the board, "
 From the time their diagnosed, all the way through their treatment and into their survival follow up, so survivorship is a key component of that. So there are a lot of different elements for that patient that has a huge impact just on the quality of their experience," said Dr. Troy Kimsey. the Director Surgical Oncology as Phoebe Putney

This is the first time this conference is being held, and depending on its success, it may become a yearly occurrence.
