ALBANY, GA --
Albany police officers and EMS responded to a dog bite call around 2PM Saturday afternoon on Morningside Drive.

A little boy was raking leaves in his own backyard when two brothers walked up to the fence asked him if he need help raking.

They jumped the fence to help and the dog became unsecured and went after the two brothers.

The youngest of the two was bitten in the arm. The older brother was transported to the hospital after the pitbull latched on to his head. The owner was able to free the boy from the dog.

The pitbull was taken into custody by Animal Control and brought to the Humane Society where it will be held for ten days.

The dog may be released earlier if the owner can produce proper shot verification paperwork.
