This year Black Friday started early. Before families could get down Thanksgiving dinner they were headed to the stores to wait in long lines for door buster deals.

Many people were out as early as Thursday morning waiting in line. Those who chose to wait had a plan; get there early, mark their spot and sit.

“I made up my mind no matter how long I have to wait, I’m going to stay here until I get what I come for,” said Ira Jones, an early shopper.

Ira Jones was determined to catch a deal on flat screen TV’s and he wasn't alone. Although Sears wasn't set to open until 8:00 p.m., by 5:00 p.m. the parking lot was full.

“Everybody said why you didn’t eat Thanksgiving dinner. We'll eat thanksgiving dinner tomorrow and the next day and the next day,” said Sherry Williams.

Williams was one of the first in line at 9:00 a.m. patiently waiting to get her daughter a gift.

“Even though I’m recovering from the flu, I came out here to get in line to get her a TV for her birthday,” said Williams.

And the gift of giving was the goal for most people as they sat in line waiting on a deal to bless someone else.

Leanna Hickman's first stop was at Toys-R-Us, stocking up on gifts for the kids then she'd make her way to the mall.

“I want to get boots for myself,” said Leanna Hickman.

Although some can't see themselves waiting in line to beat the crowds, those that do make the best of it by bringing along good company, snacks, and something to occupy their time.
