ALBANY, GA --
A car crash in East Albany last night knocked out power to multiple residences after the car hit a power pole.

Power was restored to the homes but not to a Dougherty County Pre-K.

No power means no heat and as students arrived at Sylvandale Pre-K this morning alternate plans were made.

Students attending Oak Tree were transported to Jackson Heights Elementary School; students at Sylvandale Pre-K were brought to Live Oak Elementary School.

Water, Gas and Light have been called and said that power should be restored later this afternoon.

According to WG&L crews, an underground wire that provides power to the school was damaged which takes a little longer to repair then above ground wires.

Due to the abundance of open space at the two schools, students will be placed in open classrooms to receive their scheduled lessons.

Dougherty County School officials confirm that students will be transported back to Sylvandale Pre-K Center this afternoon for regular dismissal.
