MACON, GA -- In the GISA-AA State Championship, there was no denying the Westwood Wildcats.

The underdogs from Camilla were looking for the school’s first girl’s basketball championship. It’s been 43 years of waiting for the Wildcats-- but they’re not waiting any longer.

On Saturday, the gritty group of Wildcats needed overtime before pulling off the day’s biggest upset a 72-70 win over defending AAA State Champs, Arlington Christian.

Junior Wildcat Rachell Harrell had all the answers for Westwood. Needing two points in the final 15 seconds, Harrell was there for a rebound and a score. In overtime, Harrell put the finishing touches on Westwood’s dream season with a fast break lay-up in the final minute.
