LEESBURG, GA --
The Lee County Chamber of Commerce started their Tuesday early with the annual "Eggs and Issues" breakfast.

The breakfast highlighted this year's Lee County High School STAR student, Alan Un, and STAR teacher, Dr. Dave Baltenburger.

Un was selected as the STAR student because he is in the top ten percent of the LCHS senior class and received the highest score on the SAT in one sitting, 2220 points out of a possible 2400.

Un picked Dr. Dave Baltenburger, as the STAR teacher and Un’s biggest inspiration and motivator.

“We've kind of known each other for only two years now but we've been through a lot.  Not only in school, him nominating me for GHP (Governor’s Honors Program) and we just know each other really well and he's just a great guy,” said Un about Baltenburger.

“He's just a really good student and likes to be challenged, so that's always somebody you connect with when you see somebody like that,” said Baltenburger about Un.

Un plans to attend Georgia Tech next fall and pursue a career in engineering.

Baltenburger teaches physics and astronomy at LCHS.  He has been teaching in Lee County for seven years and one year in Mitchell County before.
