Homeless Coalition wraps up week long homeless count

ALBANY, GA --
The Albany-Dougherty Homeless Coalition conducted a homeless count throughout the area all last week.

The coalition sent 15,000 surveys to Dougherty County schools alone. The Surveys have been collected throughout the week and will now be sent away for analysis.

The count shows 1,444 confirmed homeless individuals across Dougherty County, up from 699 two years ago.

Data will be used to help the area obtain more funding for homeless services.
