SYLVESTER, GA --
FOURTH UPDATE (4:10 PM):

The Sylvester Police Department has released the following statement to media regarding new arrests:

"This morning a juvenile was taken into custody and charged with the bomb threat of Worth County High School, called into Worth 911 on January 28, 2013. The juvenile was charged with Terroristic Threats and Acts, Transmitting False Report of an alarm and Disruption of a Public School. This afternoon, four additional juveniles have been taken into custody and charged with a bomb threat of the Worth County Middle School yesterday afternoon and this morning. The juveniles were charged with Terroristic Threats and Acts, Transmitting False Report of an alarm and Disruption of a Public School. The Transmitting False Report of an alarm also holds the juvenile and/or their families responsible for restitution of all cost as a result of the bomb threats. Also a parent of one of the juveniles was arrested and charged with Disorderly Conduct as a result of their action upon arrival at the school. The Sylvester Police Department is still following other leads into other bomb threats but are committed to locating and charging all that are involved."



THIRD UPDATE (1:00 PM):

Sylvester police have confirmed that a juvenile has been arrested for one of the bomb threats at Worth County Schools.


SECOND UPDATE (10:00 AM):

Worth County School officials confirm that the elementary and middle schools were evacuated according to emergency protocol.

The Code Yellow has been lifted at Worth County High School.

Students have been moved back to their respective schools and have returned to their regular schedules.

In the released statement, Worth County School System commends their staff, students, community and authorities for the outstanding job responding to this situation.


FIRST UPDATE (9:15 AM):

Parents have confirmed that a bomb threat was made at Worth County Middle School and Worth County Elementary School.

Worth County High School is operating under a code yellow. This means that all doors are locked and students will remain in the classroom.


ORIGINAL STORY (8:45 AM):

The Worth County School Public Information Officials confirm that Worth County Elementary School is being evacuated.

Middle school students are being moved to the high school and elementary school students are being moved to the Board of Education.
