Albany Police officers and EMS responded to a shooting early Wednesday morning.

An alarm went off at the residence of 1563 Georgia Avenue. The individual home at the time retrieved a firearm because he thought there was a burglar inside.

He spotted a dark figure moving, fired one shot and struck the individual in the elbow.

The individual shot was his roommate; who was not expected to come home.

One person was sent to the hospital for further treatment.
