Albany police have announced the arrest of Shinar Edwards who was apprehended at a home on West Lincoln Avenue.  After questioning police have charged Edwards with aggravated assault and possession of a weapon during the commission of a crime.


First Update
Albany police say that 55-year-old Leola Butler has been charged with giving a false statement in writing and hindering the apprehension of a criminal.

Officers are still looking for Butler's son, 23-year-old Shinar Edwards. Edwards is wanted for aggravated assault and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.

Albany police are investigating an aggravated assault after a man walked into Phoebe North Sunday morning with a knife wound to the head.

Officers say that 59-year-old Bobby Thomas was admitted to the hospital for treatment, but was unable to provide information regarding how he sustained his injury.

Detectives say that as of Sunday night, Thomas was in stable but critical condition.
