ALBANY, GA --
The Dougherty County commissioners had their regularly scheduled meeting today, and recognized several "citizen-run" organizations.

Chairman of the commission, Jeff Sinyard made it a point of saying that these groups need to be honored, especially because their efforts are completely voluntary.

"To really thank those that serve with no pay, in making sure that we have the right system in place, the right protocols, the right rules and regulations, and making sure those boards are doing what they need to do to keep citizens safe," said Sinyard.

Each board was recognized, and chairman sinyard says every commission member appreciates what they do for this community.
