Cotton Avenue shooting sends multiple victims to the hospital

ALBANY, GA --
Albany police officers responded to the 500 block of Cotton Avenue early Friday morning in reference to a shooting.

Officers report that an unknown female and Cabina McCoy were fighting shortly after midnight when 36-year old Donnell McCoy tried to break up the fight.




An unknown male, who investigators say was friends with Cabina McCoy, began shooting.

Two victims were struck by gunfire according to police; Donnell McCoy was struck on the left side of his body and 45-year-old Sherrill Everett was struck by a stray bullet on the left side of her body.

Both were taken to the hospital for treatment.
