ALBANY, GA --
Merry Acres Middle Magnet School of Medical Arts held it's 2013 Career Expo Thursday night. The 8th annual event was sponsored by Albany State University.

The theme for this year's career fair was 'Exploring the Careers of Tomorrow Through Stem Education.'

Students were exposed to professions in the fields of science, technology, engineering and mathematics.

Engineers from Protor and Gamble showed up along with healthcare professionals from Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital.

Even FOX 31's morning show chef, Mrs. Loretta, was in attendance representing the culinary arts field.

"We want to make sure that we have a more improved workforce and make sure that our students are ready for the 21st century so that they can compete and earn higher paying jobs. This is why we expose them early," said Traci Price, Merry Acres Middle School Counselor.

Students received a free Chick-Fil-A meal for writing an essay about the experience.
