ALBANY, GA --
First Update (11/28/12)
Officials from the Georgia State Patrol confirm it was a 16-year-old pedestrian that was fatally hit by a car early Monday morning in Cordele.

Officials say her family had just moved and it was only her second day walking to her new bus stop. The girl was hit around 6:30 a.m. while crossing the road with her 14-year-old brother who was not injured in the incident.

Officials are still investigating the incident and say charges are pending for the driver.

The Georgia State Patrol in Cordele is investigating an incident involving a vehicle and a pedestrian that reportedly led to a fatality.
