ALBANY, GA --
A candidate for the at-large position on the Dougherty County School Board opened up the doors to her headquarters.

Lane Price was surrounded by supporters at a ribbon cutting Tuesday.

Price has been a cancer specialists for 30 years, she holds a masters in education from the University of Georgia and a degree from the Medical College of Georgia.

Price noted that there needs to be a long term plan for the board.

"We need to make some improvements and I truly felt called to run for the school board. I think that with my background. My knowledge, my passion and my new eyes to see things that I can make some real differences" said Price

Price says one of the biggest hurdles the board faces as well as the city of Albany, is racial tension, and that race shouldn't be a factor of public education.
