TIFTON, GA --
The Tift County Sheriff's Office have confirmed that two people were shot Friday afternoon.

Officials with the office say that deputies responded to a home in the on Cotton Point Circle at shortly after noon on Friday.

Deputies say through the investigation, that 69-year-old Lee Harris shot his 37-year-old son David Harris once in the upper arm. David Harris was transported to the Tift Regional Medical Center where he is being treated for a non-life threatening gunshot wound. 

Tift County Sheriff Gene Scarbrough says Lee Harris then shot himself in the abdomen and was treated on the scene by EMS personnel, then transported by Air Evac to a hospital in Macon.

Investigators from the Tift County Sheriff’s Office and GBI Crime Scene technicians remain on the scene continuing their investigation of the double shooting.
