ALBANY, GA. --

After the first candidate rejected the job offer for interim county administrator due to health concerns, Lee County officials have chosen a replacement.

A special called meeting was held Thursday afternoon in the Government Building on Starksville Avenue to approve a contract for Lynn Taylor.

Taylor recently retired as the county administrator of Sumter County.

Under her contract as interim county administrator of Lee County, she'll be paid a salary of $3,056 every two weeks for a period of six months or longer.

“I'm very optimistic that she will accept the contract as presented and we'll have a new county administrator Monday morning,” said Rick Muggridge, Lee County Commission Chairman.

If no full-time county administrator is hired within a six month period, the contract will be extended.
