ALBANY, GA --
Georgia Governor Nathan Deal recently announced his support of a proposal that will help students that are attending technical college and struggling to pay tuition.

Nearly two years ago, the Hope Grant GPA requirement was bumped up from a 2.0 to a 3.0 due to budgetary reasons. But now, the requirement is going back down to a 2.0.

Officials at local technical colleges say this change will be for the better.

Jana Wiggins with Moultrie Technical College says this grant will allow students to save nearly $85 per credit hour if they qualify. She said it makes it easier for students who have been out of high school for longer to get financial aid when going back to school to continue their education.
