The Albany Journal's digital website has been affected by the black hole exception kit.

ALBANY, GA -- The Albany Journal's recent
conversion
to a digital only format was not without it's pitfalls.
According to Publisher Tom Knighton, the Journal's website started to become flagged by anti-virus software as containing a computer virus called the "black hole exception kit."
The virus stifled efforts by staff to update content to the site Tuesday morning, requiring intervention on behalf of the website's hosting company.
Knighton expects things to return to normal within the week and asks readers to stick with them through the tech issues and to stay up-to-date on the website at their
Facebook
page.
The best defense against the exploit is to make sure that all of your browser, operating system, and anti-virus products are regularly updated.
