ALBANY, GA -- "Retired Senior Volunteer Program" members were honored Tuesday at First United Methodist Church in Albany.

Those seniors were served homemade fried chicken, along with several special speakers and a harp performance. Executive Director of the event, Kay Hind, says it's just a simple way to give back and say thank you.

"They work all over the community either at non-profit agencies, or other organizations. They put in thousands of hours of work, and this is just a way we can thank them," said Hind.

Hind went on to say that she loves putting on this event and is excited to see what the volunteers do in 2013.
