ALBANY, GA --
Reverend Lorenzo Heard announced he has dropped his lawsuit against the Dougherty County Board of Elections to focus on his campaign.

Heard says he has not given up, but made the decision to focus on the children as a Dougherty County Board of Education At-Large write-in candidate.

Heard's lawyer, Henry Williams says this fight is not over and they have not given up, but he has to abide by Heard's wishes.

During the lawsuit, it was decided the lawyers would present written closing arguments and proposed orders by October 19th but Williams says this was too long a wait to be put on the ballot.

Heard says he needs to refocus his efforts on making sure his supporters understand the write-in process and showing people why he is committed to the children.
