ALBANY, GA -- Superintendent Dr. Joshua Murfree and the Dougherty County school board will be parting ways.

Both sides have agreed to terms that will end Murfree's contract on December 18^th of this year.

He will be paid for the remainder of the contract which was set to expire June 2^nd of 2013.

The board voted 4-3 in favor of the agreement that alleviates both sides from fault.

"I wish the superintendent well, I know he's a great guy and I know he's got a great future ahead of him," said Dougherty County School Board Member, Darrel Ealum.

The board has yet to say who will be replacing Dr. Murfree.
