ALBANY, GA --
Pools are empty now, but not for long, and it's always fun and games until someone gets hurt. Schools are getting ready to close their doors for summer. This is just in time for Mother Nature to crank up the heat and send people of all ages to local pools to cool off.

To prevent injuries, Albany Parks and Recreation Department and the YMCA are educating Albany's Youth about pool safety.

Representatives are visiting local schools to educate the students about to teach them common and uncommon pool rules that people should be mindful of following to keep the pool and park safe. Some important rules to remember include not bringing in glass, no rough playing, no diving in shallow water and to always have someone there for supervision.

By following rules, the pool will be a safe and cool place to beat the summer heat.

For more information on pool times and/or classes, visit their websites for more information. http://www.albanyareaymca.org/swimming.php and http://www.albany.ga.us/
