ALBANY, GA. --

After a day of golfing, quail hunters took time to dine before going on Friday’s hunt.

Hundreds attended Friday's dinner and silent auction at the Albany Civic Center.

The Bruner's Landowners' Appreciation was not only dedicated to those who provide the land for hunting, but was also held to thank local veterans.

One plantation owner says he's been a part of the Quail Unlimited Celebrity Quail Hunt since its inception.

The economy of course is not good anywhere for anybody but we're doing okay and Quail Unlimited is a very beneficial organization for quail conservation,” said Paschal Brooks, Quail Country Plantation owner.

The first day of hunting starts tomorrow.
