LEESBURG, GA --
After years of planning, Lee County has put into motion the process of trying to ease traffic at the intersection of Route 19 and Highway 32.

The construction began with adding a two-lane left turn westbound on Route 19 to allow more people to get through the light.

Planning Director Bob Alexander says this will allow an easier flow of traffic not only in a car but on foot.

Alexander says they installed a pedestrian light for an easier crossing process, which will in turn hopefully help the strip of businesses located directly in front of the light.

The Planning and Zoning Department will watch how these changes effect traffic before they tackle the next step in the intersection's construction.
