ALBANY, GA --
The Albany Olive Garden opened Monday to a long line of hungry folks ready for some soup, salad and pasta.

People in line say they've been waiting for this day a long time. Several of those waiting say they have often traveled to locations in Valdosta, Dothan, Macon, Warner Robins and Columbus to satisfy their cravings for the classic breadsticks.

The restaurant has employed around 180 local workers. General Manager Ken Hill says they've worked with staff over the weekend in preparation for this day and predicts everything will go smoothly.

Folks we talked to say they hope this spurs more development in the area. Next on everyone's "Albany Needs" list is a Dunkin Donuts shop.
