ALBANY, GA --
In our Facebook story of the day, you wanted to know if pet CPR exists and if it is effective.

FOX 31 spoke to Dr. Kelly Anderson, a veterinarian at Gardner & Hydrick Animal Hospital, who said pet CPR does exist and it can be effective if you do it properly.

Dr. Anderson says once you start doing chest compressions made sure your pet is laying on his right side. She also says for larger dogs you will have to press harder but make sure you aren’t pressing so hard that you could break a rib.

Dr. Anderson also recommends trying to find someone that will drive you and the animal to the closest vet so you can be doing CPR on the way there.
