ALBANY, GA --
The Albany Fire Department has been raising money this weekend for their "Burn the Boot" campaign.

The money raised goes towards helping burn victims across the state. Some of the things this money goes towards is keeping the family with the burn victim during their time in a medical facility, and sending that burn victim to a camp over the summer where they can meet and get support from people going through the same thing.

Assistant Chief Sebon Burns with the Albany Fire Department says burn victims go through a more traumatic experience than people think, and what they need the most is support and that's what he hopes to bring them. Burns also said he thinks the fire department will be able to raise at least $1,000 this weekend for the victims.
