ALBANY, GA -- Officials with the Georgia Professional Standards Commission have announced that they have vacated the suspension order against Dr. Valerie Thomas according to a letter received by Dougherty County Superintendent Dr. David Mosely.

The reason given for the suspension from the commission was that Thomas requested a hearing, but the request was not received in a timely manner.

Officials say that they wanted Thomas to have the full benefit of her appeals process, leading them to vacate the suspension and scheduling of a hearing.

The date for the meeting was not announced in the letter.
