Although warm weather is ahead, officials stress that southwest Georgians should continue to take precautions to protect themselves against the virus.
“We've had increases as late as April and May so we will probably still see clustering of flu cases in some of our counties,” said Jackie Jenkins, Southwest Georgia Public Health Epidemiologist.
She says people should continue good hand hygiene, stay home if you're sick and seek medical help for serious symptoms.
