ALBANY, GA -- Patients leaving Phoebe Putney can expect a little extra follow-up care when leaving the hospital.

As of January 1st, once you are discharged from the hospital, you will receive an automated phone call asking you about your experience at the hospital, if you are getting prescribed medication, how you are feeling and other issues.

Depending on the responses, personnel from the hospital will call to check up on the patient.

This was originally implemented two years ago on a trial basis, but was adopted as a permanent feature at the start of the year.
